Why Ree Drummond Preps Cinnamon Rolls In Her Dutch Oven
While most cinnamon roll recipes require a stand mixer, a whisk, some hand-kneading, and a separate bowl to leave the dough in, Ree Drummond’s recipe only calls for a Dutch oven.
In a segment of her show "The Pioneer Woman," the chef heats milk, vegetable oil, and sugar in a Dutch oven before adding yeast and flour and mixing everything with a wooden spoon.
Drummond covers the pot and lets it sit for an hour so the dough can rise. Then, she adds more flour and a few other ingredients, rolls the dough out, and spreads it with filling.
While you can even bake your rolls in the same Dutch oven, Drummond prefers placing hers in baking pans instead. As the chef suggests, the final result will be too good to be true.
