The Way To Make Coffee Without A Machine Or Strainer
Coffee is an integral part of the morning for many, and if you find yourself in a situation where you need coffee but don’t have the appropriate tools, try making “cowboy coffee.”
This method involves hot water, ground coffee, and an empty container. Espresso and dark-roast coffee work particularly well for this technique.
Simply heat your water, pour three to four tablespoons of coffee grounds per person into your container, and pour in enough water to cover the grounds.
Let the grounds sit for a bit, then fill the container with more hot water and steep for about four minutes. For filtering, use paper coffee filters, a paper towel, or thin fabric.
Alternatively, you can skip filtering altogether and simply wait for the coffee grounds to settle at the bottom of the cup before sipping.
To streamline the process, you can buy coffee bags similar to teabags from Klatch Coffee or compostable Venture Pouches from Hikers Coffee.
