The Sandwich Elvis Presley Devoured By The Loaf

One of Elvis’ most famous food preferences was the peanut butter, banana, and bacon sandwich. He didn’t invent it, but Presley made the sandwich almost as renowned as his music.

The Fool's Gold Loaf included a pound of bacon, a jar of peanut butter, and a jar of blueberry preserves in a hollowed-out loaf of sourdough bread, heated or deep-fried.

The King grew up enjoying peanut butter and banana sandwiches his mother Gladys prepared. The sandwich is still served for visitors at Gladys' Diner at Graceland for $4.99.

Consuming an entire Fool's Gold Loaf is a big task, as it is the holy grail of contrasting tastes and textures. When heat is added to the equation, it is a well-rounded dish that's hard to forget.
