Ina Garten's love for her husband of 55 years, Jeffrey, is well-known. Garten’s cookbook, "Cooking for Jeffrey," even explores their bond through the dishes he enjoys her cooking.

Even though Garten told Yale Daily News that "Jeffrey is an easy audience," she did concede that in all their years together, there was a fish stew that didn't go over too well.

What exactly went wrong with the dish remains a mystery. It’s possible that the fish wasn't fresh, it wasn’t properly deboned, or it was over or under-seasoned, or just overcooked.

Garten has since created many recipes that make up for her past fishy sins, including ones she crafted especially for Jeffrey and included in her cookbook, "Cooking For Jeffrey."
