The Nostalgic Fruit Juice That's Actually Hydrating
If you’re looking for a flavorful, hydrating beverage with a bit of childhood nostalgia, look no further than apple juice.
You may be surprised to know that apple juice consists of 88% water, but you would never know thanks to its delicious apple flavor.
Moreover, apple juice contains beneficial plant compounds that can prevent oxidative damage to the blood cells, lessen the risk of heart issues, and even help prevent some cancers.
Apple juice can contain a lot of added sugars, so for both adults and children, it’s best to dilute the juice with an equal amount of water.
When choosing an apple juice, opt for a purer juice without added sugars, preservatives, and other ingredients, or make your own so you know exactly what’s in it.
Despite these perks, apple juice should not be given to infants. If you’re severely dehydrated, you’d be better served by an electrolyte-laden liquid, like a sports drink.
