The Least Dehydrating Cocktail To Relish On A Breezy Night Out
We often forget how vital hydration is when drinking alcohol, but drinking vodka soda or vodka water can rehydrate your body and prevent hangover symptoms.
Vodka soda is a mix of vodka with soda water, club soda, or seltzer, whereas vodka water is simply the liquor combined with still water.
As diuretics, alcohol encourages urine production, clearing your kidneys and bladder of liquids quicker and dehydrating your body.
To prevent dehydration, Healthline suggests drinking a 16-ounce glass of water for every 12-ounce serving of beer or four to six ounces of liquor you consume.
However, vodka water or soda already contains a lot of water, so you won't have to work as hard to get those 16-ounce glasses of water in-between drinks.
To make a vodka soda, pour 1.5 ounces of vodka over ice and fill the glass with soda water (about 5 ounces). You can add lemon, lime, or any other kind of juice for added flavor.
