The Absolute Best Way To Reheat Roast Beef Without Eliminating Tenderness
Roast beef is always a great meal, but you will often have leftovers because it’s a large cut of meat. The leftovers can be a little daunting to reheat, but there are easy solutions.
Before your leftovers go in the fridge, slice the roast beef so it can be reheated piece by piece. The easiest way to reheat roast beef is either in a skillet or the microwave.
In a medium-hot skillet, you can heat each piece for a couple of minutes on either side without drying it out. In the microwave, heat the meat in its juices at 30-second intervals.
Another option to avoid overcooking is to simmer slices of roast beef sous-vide. While this is a great reheating method, it requires vacuum-sealed bags and a sous-vide machine.
If you want to reheat a whole roast beef, it’s best to use the oven. Cooking times and temperatures may vary depending on how you cooked and stored the roast.
For this method, you’ll be preheating your oven, then turning it off and using the residual heat to reheat the roast. Wrap the roast in aluminum foil and place it on a baking tray.
If your roast is medium rare, heat it for 20 minutes at 250°F. For medium, preheat to 350°F and heat for five minutes, and for well done, preheat to 390°F.
