Ina Garten's Hack For Drying Lettuce Without A Salad Spinner
To dry lettuce without a salad spinner, Ina Garten puts damp lettuce inside a large kitchen towel, gathers the ends, and then spins the towel in the air.
The centrifugal force moves the water clinging to the leaves outwards, where it gets absorbed by the towel, leaving your lettuce nice and dry.
Since some water may spray out from a regular kitchen towel, consider getting a product designed for this exact purpose, such as the Salad Sling.
You could also use a clean cotton pillowcase. To further avoid any mess, put the lettuce-filled towel in a plastic grocery bag, lined with paper, during spinning.
