How Long Does A Watermelon Last Before Cutting It Open?
Uncut watermelons can remain fresh for up to three or four weeks, like the Charleston Grey variety, while other fresh-picked varieties only
last up to two or three weeks.
To preserve a whole watermelon, consume it within a week if stored at room temperature or
up to three weeks if refrigerated.
While countertop storage
is convenient for quick consumption, refrigeration prolongs its freshness. If your kitchen runs warm, storing your watermelon in the fridge is best.
