How Exactly Does Starbucks' Bring Your Own Cup Policy Work?
Starbucks' bring-your-own-cup program encourages customers to use reusable cups. The scheme, available in-store, via the app, and at drive-thrus, aims to enhance sustainability.
To comply with health and safety rules, cups must be clean, reusable, and presented without lids. Baristas are not allowed to rinse customers’ cups, so dirty cups are rejected.
You may bring any size reusable cup to Starbucks, provided it fits the ordered drink. Baristas use measuring cups to ensure correct ratios and a contactless holder for hygiene.
Licensed Starbucks locations in grocery stores and airports might not be part of the scheme. Customers are encouraged to ask the baristas, as perks are offered for participation.
Starbucks offers a $0.10 discount and 25 reward stars per drink ordered in a reusable cup. The limit is set at three per day, which is nearly enough to earn you a free iced coffee.
