Chickpeas can be used in a variety of ways, including boiling them in soups, mixing them to make veggie burgers, roasting them, and even frying them for a tasty crouton substitute.
Two tablespoons of chickpeas contain a bit over five grams of protein and about three grams of fiber. In addition, they are a good source of iron, phosphorus, and B vitamins.
Crack open a can of chickpeas and pat dry with a paper towel. Then, place them in a pan with some cooking oil and fry, stirring frequently, until they're a deep golden brown.
