Don't Toss Avocado Pits. Brew Them For A Rich, Energizing Tea
Avocado pits are high in nutrients like vitamins and antioxidants, and though they’re hard and pretty much impossible to eat, you can brew them into tea to reap all their benefits.
Use two cups of water for every avocado pit and bring it to a boil. Add the pits and let them boil in the water for at least five minutes so that they soften properly.
Take the pits out of the water, chop them into chunks, and boil them for another 10 minutes. Once the tea turns golden or red, strain out and discard the chunks.
The avocado pits will make the tea a bit bitter, so a drizzle of honey and spices like cinnamon can be used to sweeten it and mask the sharp flavor.
You can also add some cut and peeled ginger to the pot while you boil the avocado pits. Doing so will add a nice flavor and possibly more health benefits as well.
