Get ready for one of the biggest cookbook launches of the year. On March 7, Katie Parla releases her comprehensive new cookbook, Food of the Italian Islands, on her own imprint, Parla Publishing. As the title suggests, the book follows Parla, the Rome-based author and TV personality, as she boats from village to village, from Sardinia to Sicily and beyond, tasting the local specialties.
Best of all, she sources recipes for everything from arancini to zeppole to share with us. She also provides adaptations to famed recipes and techniques, such as her take on the pistachio spread from Caffè Sicilia. To celebrate the book’s launch, Parla is coming back to her native land to tour, talk, and sign some copies. She’ll hold court at bookstores as well as some of the most notable Italian restaurants, shops, and bars across the United States, in many cases teaming with chefs to showcase dishes featured in Food of the Italian Islands. See the dates below and visit her website to purchase advance tickets. (Her stateside events tend to sell out in advance; she has guested on Stanley Tucci: Searching For Italy, after all.)
