  • Café Boulud‘s Voyage to Mexico continues today in New York with guest chef Rick Lopez serving up authentic and modern dishes from Guadalajara. Can’t make it tonight? Lopez’s dishes will be available a la carte through the summer.
  • Friend of the Food Republic Today podcast and third-generation pitmaster Adrian Davila will be serving his Texan barbecue at La Contenta Oeste in New York on Saturday in honor of launching his first cookbook. Swing by from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. to get a taste and get your copy of Cowboy Barbecue signed from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Bill Telepan’s Oceana begins its monthly Saturday Series at the Oceana Raw Bar where guests can enjoy a 14-course tasting menu by Telepan himself and executive pastry chef Douglas Hernandez. The dinner will highlight off-the-menu creations by the pair and includes cocktails and canapés. Seats at the raw bar can be reserved by calling 212-759-5941.
  • After a five year hiatus, Boston’s Oyster Invitational is back and shucking on Sunday. New England chefs and oyster purveyors will serve different iterations of the local and regional bivalve, drinks will be slung and cooking demonstrations and classes will be available.   • De Maria in New York is hosting a benefit dinner on Sunday in conjunction with Counter Service Magazine. Chef Adriana Urbina, a native to Venezuela, will be cooking up dishes inspired by her childhood. A portion of the profits made that night will be donated to Accion por Venezuela, an organization that supplies medicine to hospitals all over the country.   • Roberta’s in Brooklyn is hosting Druzstvo, a natural wine purveyor from the Czech Republic, in its garden on Sunday. Pairing pizzas, porchetta and more with Czech wines in what will hopefully be sunny weather sounds like the idyllic spring day. Find more information here.
  • Portland, Oregon’s Naomi Pomeroy is teaming up with chef Garrison Price of New York’s il Buco Alimentari for a spring dinner on Monday, April 30.   • NYC’s Pinch Chinese will serve up fried dumplings filled with ground chicken, garam masala, ginger and spinach in partnership with chef Anita Lo for the month of May. Proceeds from the dish will benefit Common Threads, a non-profit organization dedicated to fighting childhood obesity through cooking and nutrition classes.
  • The Sosta in New York City continues its all-female Guest Chef series with James Beard Award nominated-author Athena Calderone. Her chilled Spring Trumpette will be available at the restaurant all May long and is comprised of trumpette pasta strawberries, grape tomatoes, cucumbers, serrano peppers, goat cheese, tarragon, mint and lime citronette. Calderone will also be signing her book, Cook Beautiful, at The Sosta on May 10 at 6 p.m.
  • Astoria’s Christos Steak House launches its monthly Steak and Scotch dinner series on Tuesday, May 1. For $150, guests can enjoy welcome cocktails and a four-course meal paired with four different scotches. This month highlights Talisker 10 Year, Glenkinchie 12 year, Lagavulin 16 Year and Dalwhinnie 15 year. Reservations can be made here.
  • Carla Hall plays host at this year’s Spirit of Helen Keller Gala on Wednesday, May 2 at Gotham Hall in NYC. Chefs Michael Anthony, Homer Murray, Akhtar Nawab and Pierre Thiam will serve as the night’s chefs. Tickets will benefit the foundation and can be found here.
  • Fast-casual chain Firehouse Subs is popping up at the NYC Fire Museum on Wednesday, May 2 from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. The chain is dedicated to raising funds to buy equipment for first responders and a portion of sales from the pop-up will go toward that.
