Jesse Marco is barely out of his teens, but he’s already racked up more frequent flyer miles than your traveling salesman uncle. The DJ’s schedule for the first few weeks of November alone would look daunting even to a travel agent: From Miami to LA, then Austria, London, Switzerland, NYC and back to LA. Whew.

Once he settles behind the deck, this sometime-model draws from a dizzying knowledge of rock, hip-hop and pop. His all-over-the-map mixes are available for download on his website, and they could become the soundtrack to your next dinner party — or better yet, dance party. And if you can, invite Jesse over for a meal; the guy sounds so busy he barely has time to eat!

What’s the best meal you’ve ever cooked or best meal that’s been cooked for you?
In Park City [Utah], I made a whole roast chicken with vegetables. I ate it the entire weekend while I was deejaying there.

Who’s another DJ or musician you’ve worked with who’s really into food?
@actionbronson

What’s the best thing your mom cooks or cooked?
Fried chicken and spaghetti. My mom makes enough for 5 children so I take it home and eat it all week.

If you get hungry during a set, what kinds of food do you snack on that won’t get the equipment all greasy?
Shark Bites.

Favorite places to eat or drink in cities you frequent?

NEW YORK:

  • Rubirosa on Mulberry Street
  • Goldbar on Broome

LOS ANGELES:

  • Birds on Franklin and Bronson. I eat there 3 times a day when I’m in town.
  • Harvard and Stone. Best bar in LA.

MONTE CARLO, FRANCE:

  • Avenue 31. Best lamb chops in the entire world. Last night I was there, I ordered 14 chops, no big deal.

ketchup, ketchup, ketchup

Last meal you made at home was…
Potato hash with stir fried veggies….I’ll admit, I mostly watched it being made.

Do you have any quirky (or strange) dietary habits?

First food to hit your lips in the morning/afternoon is…
3 cereals in one big bowl. Kix, Mini Wheats, Frosted Flakes and a fucking banana.

Favorite cooking show(s) on TV?
Chopped. I couldn’t even peel an orange in 20 minutes…

Do you have any pre-show food rituals/habits?
I just have to eat at home so I don’t turn into a monster.

Food or drink requirements for shows (from your touring rider)?
Redbull.

Earliest cooking memory as a child?
My pops making cream of wheat with honey.

If you’re eating after 3AM, you’re likely eating…
