“I don’t like gas grills at all. I think gas grills are kind of stupid.” Thus begins Michael Solomonov’s episode of Strong Opinions. The widely (and in our opinion, justly) acclaimed chef behind Zahav, Abe Fisher and the Federal Donuts chain simply believes that if you’re gonna cook meat without wood or charcoal, you might as well cook it on your stove in a pan. He also dishes on how to please notoriously opinionated Philly diners and shares his feelings about Yelp. Soon, Solomonov will have to apply his theories to NYC diners as well; his hummus restaurant, Dizengoff, is set to open in Manhattan’s Chelsea Market on March 14.
