What To Eat: Lunch

My estimations indicate most of us do not have appropriate grilling facilities at our offices. If you do, where do you even work and are you hiring lunch-based columnists? And if you don't, break out the grill pan, bring a lunch you grilled yourself and finish up the month strong. Memorial Day is around the corner, and grillmaster = you.

I thought I’d try an experiment. I wanted not turkey, not ham, certainly not olive loaf, but lamb, rare and thinly sliced like roast beef. Such an option does not exist even in the best of these deli situations…unless I make a lamb roast, pack it up, bring it to the deli and slip the guy $20 to slice it on the machine. Here's what happened.

On our way to the office, we push past the fluorescent parka-wearing Empire State Building guys inexplicably asking us, with our headphones, sunglasses and strategic avoidance of standing-and-staring tourists, if we're going up today.
