Break out the braisers, it's time for slow-cooked sausage soup and a delicious twist on coq au vin and let's all give a standing ovation for the return of meatloaf season. Know what's great with meatloaf? Scallion fries, which are of course the new onion rings. Speaking of new ways to spin something you've had before, butternut squash soup, that perennial darling of the seasonal menu, is vastly improved with bourbon, apples and roasted kale. Enjoy this week's new recipes.

In regular cheese news this week, we'd wager you haven't made baked ziti since it turned into casserole season out of nowhere. And we'd bet the farm you've never made French-style buckwheat crêpes topped with bacon smothered in cheese. In pimento cheese news, which is always happy and never sad news, breakfast will simply never be the same: waffles and breakfast sandwiches love pimento cheese and will forever more. Enjoy this week's new recipes.

There's just something about watching the video of a spiral vegetable tart being put together that keeps bringing us back. Of course, the photogenic tart wasn't our only addition to our rapidly-expanding recipe section this week. Meat lovers should check out our new spiced lamb, smoked pork sausage and kebab sliders recipes, while vegetarians can take comfort in crispy oyster mushroom steaks and a kale salad stocked with goodies.

Every Jewish holiday going forward will probably involve Jerusalem Kugel (every single Jewish holiday) and we're swapping out popcorn for Taiwanese salt and pepper chicken on movie night. Check out this week's new recipes.

Something about the changing seasons makes us crave tailgating food...now what could it be? Oh right, the influx of friends who insist you have the biggest TV and therefore we're watching football at your place. But in your heart, you know they're just there because you make the best food. And have the biggest TV. Therefore: mini stuffed meatballs, maple popsicles with bourbon and bacon and especially pigs wrapped in pimento cheese-infused dough. Check out this week's new recipes.

Dear world: Reuben dip. Love, Food Republic. That's right, we're cooks and poets. That's why we also brought you pretzel poutine, Mexican meatballs in salsa verde and potato skins loaded with spinach and feta dip this week. That is food poetry. Brining thick bone-in pork chops in nice strong chai is food poetry too. And we'll need all pleasantries in the world (in addition to football snacks) to finally bid summer goodbye.

We kicked off football (food) season with a spicy wing that will quell the Chinese food craving you didn't even know you had! Also in the kitchen: big soft pretzels with a tangy sourdough twist, enlisting the help of delicious fermentacular probiotics in the case of the pretzels and some awesome savory pancakes inspired by South Indian dosas. More Indian, more Mexican and MUCH MORE CAKE in this week's new recipes.

Got peaches? You should, the markets are teeming with sweet, juicy stone fruit just begging to go for a swim in weekend pancake batter. Going to the beach? Bring a bunch of Cuban sliders. Bringing the beach home? We've got a scallop ceviche recipe for that. Utterly sick of summer food? You're nuts, man. But we made you this cheddar pie with bacon and broccoli because we still love you. Enjoy this week's new recipes and have a great long weekend.
