The "Taste of Waldorf Astoria" event partnered emerging James Beard Foundation chefs with chefs working at Waldorf properties around the globe. Each of five teams was tasked with creating a signature recipe to be featured on menus at 29 Waldorf Astoria restaurants worldwide. The event culminated last Thursday evening at the Waldorf Astoria in NYC, where all five teams presented their dishes to a panel of esteemed chefs, editors and industry experts. So who won?

As we reported yesterday, Team USA has been competing in the two-day culinary Olympics — Bocuse D'or — being held in Lyon, France. Minutes ago it was revealed that Team USA, consisting of Philip Tessier, executive sous chef at the French Laundry and longtime Thomas Keller disciple, and his commis, Skylar Stover, chef de partie at the French Laundry, took home second place. The Americans had previously only placed as high as sixth.

Last night, the 2015 Bocuse d'Or team was introduced at Williams-Sonoma in New York's Columbus Circle by Thomas Keller and Daniel Boulud, two legendary chefs on the Team USA board of directors. The team features Chef Philip Tessier and Commis Skylar Stover of the French Laundry, who made it clear they fully plan on standing atop the podium in Lyon. The details, after the jump.
