I was going to write about something more stimulating for lunch today. I'm not going to tell you what, cause then I can't use it later. But it was this awesome falafel I invented. SADLY, last night's festivities were totally lame. That was a boring game, the Red Hot Chili Peppers played, like, half a song and now I have a ton of football food that's only in season as long as the leftovers are good. We recently did an appetizer for a wedding that was pimento cheese, crispy pan-fried bits of bratwurst and pickled onions in an edible spoon made out of pretzel dough. It was a huge hit, a simple combination of flavors: cheese, sausage, pretzel that everyone can relate to, with a new twist on presentation. We thought about how we could flip it for game day and this is what we came up with. The recipe, after the jump.
