Developed at Brennan’s Restaurant for a favored customer, Mr. Foster, fresh bananas sautéed in butter and brown sugar, gently spiced with cinnamon, doused with rum and flamed dramatically, and served with vanilla ice cream is a classic dessert from New Orleans. Since ice cream is part of the program already, I figured it was just one blender away from a shake.

It's not that bananas inherently belong in savory sandwiches, it's that they're not banned from them. You can't ban a banana. Say that five times fast. Anyway, by keeping an open mind you can pull off sweet-umami, rich, buttery, smooth and many other positive sandwich adjectives using bananas.

Last weekend we conducted a word association survey to decide which basic and necessary pancake recipe to run. As it turns out, just as many people want the best recipe for banana pancakes as they do for blueberry. Making banana pancakes is about as easy as adding sliced bananas to our perfect pancake batter. Actually it's exactly that easy.
