Desert Trip Will Pair Rolling Stones With Curtis Stone, Other Classic Rockers And A-List Chefs

The team behind Coachella is coming off a huge success with its latest fest in the desert south of Los Angeles, but instead of resting, Goldenvoice has just announced Desert Trip, or what some have dubbed "Oldchella." The event, scheduled for October 7-9 at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, boasts an all A-list headliner group including the Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Paul McCartney, Neil Young, Roger Waters and the Who.
Perhaps sensing that it may not be as easy to lure the boomer set to the desert as it is more free-spirited millennials, the festival is also showcasing an all-star group of culinary talent, with Ludo Lefebvre, Marcus Samuelsson, Curtis Stone, Scott Conant, Dominique Ansel, Michael Voltaggio and others manning the stoves. Meanwhile, wine-world superstar Rajat Parr will curate the "Wine Experience," while L.A. hotshot Cedd Moses will handle cocktails and Greg Koch will select craft beers. These are all names familiar to Food Republic readers — it's an impressive group, to be sure.
Passes for Desert Trip go on sale Monday, May 9 at 10 a.m. Pacific (that's 1 p.m. in the East) at deserttrip.com.
