The Lucky Peach Website Just Launched And You Must Check It Out

We've long been fans of Lucky Peach, the glossy magazine founded by chef David Chang and his cookbook collaborator Peter Meehan. San Francisco cook-turned-tuxedo dieter Chris Ying has steered the ship nicely as Editor-In-Chief. We like the magazine a lot, which is published as a quarterly, because it really comes at things with a point-of-view: smart, insidery, worldly. As if you were hanging out in the Momofuku offices.

"At luckypeach.com, you'll find a tossed salad of weird and original stories and ideas, just like the ones you've come to love in the magazine," says Meehan in his launch letter. He adds that, like the magazine, the website will stick to a central theme each month. To launch the magazine's jump online, both Meehan and Chang write about the State Of Ramen In America, while a series called Atlas shouts out LP editor and friend's favorite places to eat around the world like Mapo Galbi in Los Angeles, Pizzarium in Rome and lots of Japan. Indeed, the theme this month is ramen (the focus of the magazine's first issue in July 2011).
