The Riesling Road Trip Is Hitting Up The East Coast This May

Few things are better than a 10-day spring road trip. A 10-day spring road trip in a wine-dispensing truck, though, just may take the cake. Wines of Germany is hosting its second annual Riesling & Co. Road Trip this May, in collaboration with Paul Grieco from NYC's Hearth and Terroir and wine author and expert Stuart Pigott. While last summer's festivities took place on the West Coast and in the South, this year's journey will begin in Key West on Tuesday, May 6 and conclude in New York on Friday, May 16.

Wines of Germany is focused on creating greater awareness and increased sales of the country's wine in the United States. The "wine bar on wheels" — a container that been retrofitted as a wine tasting room, complete with bar and stools — is conducting the multi-city trip in an effort to bring Riesling to interested consumers, beverage directors and restaurateurs. Grieco and Pigott will host trade tastings and consumer dinners in several cities on the East Coast throughout the week-and-a-half long trip. A full schedule is included below, with more information available on the road trip's official website. No word yet if this year's German Wine Queen will be on hand for the celebrations.
