Two of media’s greatest minds are coming together for a conversation about film and food in New York City. In association with Zero Point Zero Production (Food Republic's parent company) and The New York Society for Ethical Culture, The Maysles Documentary Center is hosting a night with Emmy award-winning author and travel journalist Anthony Bourdain and legendary documentary filmmaker Albert Maysles, with an introduction from chef Marcus Samuelsson, on Wednesday, December 11.

The evening will feature clips from Maysles' genre-defining work in film, and Bourdain's Parts Unknown television series (including a new director's cut of the Tokyo episode, of which Bourdain says, "If you ever saw [it], your heads would explode."). The two will then speak about the art of auteur filmmaking, serendipitous dining and how cameras connect diverse peoples around the globe, prompted by moderator Michaela Angela Davis. Proceeds will benefit the Maysles Documentary Center, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the exhibition and production of documentary films that inspire dialogue and action. You can purchase tickets here.

Also, head over to our Twitter feed and RT our tweet about the event and follow @foodrepublic for a chance to win two VIP tickets, which includes a reception with Bourdain, Maysles and Samuelsson.
