Is This The World's Trendiest Sandwich?
To call salted caramel "trendy" would qualify as a gross understatement, as it has even popped up as a flavor at fro-yo shops nationwide (the ultimate cementer of all things hot). So, why not pack it on to some bread filled with other trendy ingredients to create the world's...trendiest sandwich? Sick of the word "trendy" yet? Tough.
From Gothamist comes the news that Hudson Common, a beer and burger joint in New York City's Hudson Hotel, will be offering a Salted Caramel Angry Lobster Fatty Melt for only one week, starting this Friday, April 12. That's cheddar curds, Brooklyn smoked ricotta, gouda, cheddar cheese, buttermilk with red chili-chipotle lobster salad and a salted caramel drizzle. Got that? It even has Brooklyn cheese in it. Brooklyn. We warned you that this sandwich was dangerously trendy.
The staffers at Food Republic are decidedly one-sided on the issue, with the large majority simply laughing at news of the sandwich's release. But me? I'll meet you in line on Friday afternoon.
