Mario Batali Made An Italian Meats And Cheese Tribute To The Harbowl
And he didn't go the couch potato (chip) route
At Food Republic HQ, we’re very much in support of the snack stadium — the building of sports arenas using potato chips, hamburger sliders and various forms of crudités as brick and mortar.
In fact, you should check out our How To Make A Snack Stadium tutorial.
Now it’s time for celebrity chef and The Chew host Mario Batali to get in on the action. Though not a replica of the Superdome made out of grana padano and prosciutto di parma, his interpretation of Sunday’s Harbowl (in collaboration with food stylist Krista Ruane) is pretty epic. Check out the Crocs.
As for what Batali will be serving at his Super Bowl party, he tells ESPN that the first-half food will be in tribute to the Ravens: crab cakes with Old Bay tartar sauce. The second-half food is all 49ers: Trader Vic's-style spareribs and Rice-A-Roni.
