"I was pretty sure I'd made the absolute worst decision in my professional life," begins Danny Meyer, one of the most successful restaurateurs in America. Aptly named The Restaurateur, this documentary, airing on television for the first time tonight, chronicles Meyer's decision to open not one but two upscale, no-holds-barred restaurants — Eleven Madison Park and the dearly departed Tabla — in New York City 12 years ago. The one-hour film premieres tonight on PBS in the Northeast at 10:30 p.m. Find out the answer to the question "Would you ever open two restaurants at the same time again?" Us? We wouldn't; we've heard too many horror stories. But we're not Danny Meyer.
