Word of the Day: Provender

For some reason, the idea of all those people hoovering all that holiday goodness makes us think of provender. It probably shouldn't. But that's how excited we are.

Provender is another word for food — usually referring to dry meal or "fodder" for beasts, it also applies to humans when the volume of food and speed of eating reaches that of an animal. We're counting the hours til Thanksgiving. Grandma says we won't be able to finish what's on our plates every year, and every year we prove her wrong.
