NYC: Dine Out To End Hunger

Yes, there is still a need to help victims of Hurricane Sandy, and yes, there's a Presidential election going on today. But these facts don't make hunger any less important, so it's a good time to reiterate that there are people going to bed hungry every night even in major urban centers like NYC. One organization, 30 Is Enough, has signed up a couple dozen participating restaurants that will donate 10% of profits Wednesday-Thursday, November 7-8, to the St. John's Bread and Life program, an emergency food provider in Brooklyn's Bed-Stuy neighborhood that serves over 600,000 meals annually to those who would otherwise go hungry.

If you're in Brooklyn or Manhattan, patronize these restaurants participating in Dine Out To End Hunger to help turn your purchase into a donation, or visit the program's website for a complete list and more details.
