Beer Around The NFL: Jacksonville Jaguars

Football season is here and you know what that means, don't you? If we weren't so freakin' beer happy all year round, we would call it beer season, because there really is no better way to cheer your team than with a pint or mug of your favorite local craft brew. All season we will be taking a look at the beer scenes in cities representing all 32 NFL teams — from local brewers to beer-centric bars to the finest beer shops. And if you're not into sports but enjoy a quality imperial oatmeal stout (it's OK, we're not judging), then read on anyway to see how cities across the country are taking their suds more seriously than ever. Up next, the Jacksonville Jaguars.

WHAT TO DRINK

Green Room Head High IPA: This microbrewery prides itself on big-upping its fellow local craft brewers, keeping Bold City, Cigar City and Saint Somewhere beers on tap in the tap room. Über piney and sharply bitter, this American-style IPA is rounded out by toasted malt. greenroombrewing.com

Engine 15 (904) Weissguy: This brewpub could have been listed in the bars section, but instead we decided to highlight its Hefeweizen, a light, crisp wheat beer. Notes of lemon, orange, wheat and clove are present, with a hint of coriander. engine15.com

Bold City Bold English Ale: The brewery is owned by Brian and Susan Miller – no relation to that other Miller beer company – and was born of a passion for home brewing. Its old ale is bold, dark and full of sweet and malty flavors, with a warm roasted character. boldcitybrewery.com
