5 Amazingly Undiscovered Hot Dogs In NYC

On July 7-8, Cook Out NYC goes down on Governor's Island — featuring a hot dog competition that doesn't involve eating 65 of them (unless you really want to). Five chefs from around the city are grilling up hot dogs with awesome toppings. But I simply couldn't wait til this weekend, as I hopefully demonstrated yesterday.

It's hot dog season, and I try to eat seasonally when I can. So I followed Jimmy Carbone of Food Karma Projects' and Jimmy's No. 43, master of the festivities, around town as he sampled some of the off-the-radar dogs these chefs will be pitting against one another. Now that's a dog fight the whole family can enjoy. Plus July is Good Beer Month (hard to argue with that). Enjoy the delightfully short ferry ride to Governor's Island, and eat these creations.
