You Ate My Battleship (Cake)!

Duff Goldman and Charm City Cakes West baked up a special treat for the Hollywood premiere of Battleship last night. This insane cake features a built-in smoke machine, about 50 LEDs to simulate cannon fire and lights on the mast and an Isomalt base mixed blue coloring to create the ocean effect. Goldman and a team of about 10 spent 200 hours crafting this cake masterpiece, which weighed in at about 100 pounds. Food Republic got the photos of the finished product, as well as a shot of the first blow that'd end up sinking this tasty Battleship — when the film's director, Peter Berg, sliced into it. Universal Pictures threw the bash last night in LA.
