Word of the Day: Frogmore
Building up your kitchen vocab arsenal
No silverware, no plates, no problem. There is only one word that means rolled up sleeves and tucked in bibs: frogmore (WARNING: not a very good first date meal).
Frogmore is a stew made with potatoes, sausage, corn, and shrimp all thrown in a boiling pot of Old Bay seasoning. When everything is tender, the party traditionally begins by spreading the stew in the middle of the table. Then you eat it with your hands — manners will not help you here.
