Furniture for Breakfast?
Now you can cure a hangover by chewing on a chair
Milan's much anticipated annual furniture fair, Salone 2012 has come to an end; now comes the design hangover. What better way to cure a hangover than a hearty, starch-heavy breakfast? Forget about the old-school stack of pancakes (if only for a minute), and take a look at these "Sapore dei Mobili" (or "Furniture Tasting") by Japanese/Portuguese duo Ryosuke Fukusada and Rui Pereira. The team designed a waffle iron that allows users to create miniature furniture. According to the team, “In this way, when the user gets full of his furniture, he just eats it.” No waste. No guilt. And then they can “start all over again using a different recipe.” Clever and delicious? Perfect, these little chairs will keep us satisfied till next year. Till then, Milan!
