Joining Bloggers To Take On Hunger
A virtual meet up tackles food's political side
Read Our Profile: Wholesome Wave: Michel Nischan's 2nd Act
Our friends at Food Network are busy again connecting us with our blogger colleagues for yet another cyber get together. But this time we’re not trading in Thanksgiving sides or sweet desserts, instead we’re tackling the political side of food — specifically the fight against hunger.
Out of the many organizations that advocate for food justice we would like to single out the efforts of Michel Nischan, and his team at Connecticut-based Wholesome Wave. Former Food Republic, guest editor Michel Nischan takes healthy, sustainable seriously. The two-time James Beard Award Winner and owner of The Dressing Room in Westport, Connecticut now devotes himself to making sure that low-income earners and SNAP recipients have affordable access to the best produce available through his non-profit organization.
Addressing hunger though sustainable, nutritious food is something we can get behind and we bet our media friends can too. Check out their posts on hunger via the Food Network.
