The Original Cocktail Circa 1798 Recipe

Make no mistake, the word "cocktail" did not first appear in America in 1806 as some people would have you believe. The term first graced the pages of the London's Morning Post and Gazetteer — the 20 March 1798 edition. Where was this cocktail served? Downing Street, of course, at the Axe & Gate Pub.

Getting Pissed In London Week is presented by our friends at Beefeater 24.
