Word of the Day: Xerophagy
Building up your kitchen vocab arsenal
Spring is upon us, and like the seasons our bodies change. Getting a fresh start may mean that you need a break from some of those winter comfort foods. This is where xerophagy comes in.
Xerophagy is a type of fast where you eat only dry foods that don't include cooking oils. This banishes meat, fish and dairy from your diet but permits bread, salt and vegetables. With the correct discipline the xerophagy process allows your organs to rest, rejuvenates your body, and gives you a healthy, energized spring. You'll be ready for the beach (albeit famished) before you know it!
