At Food Republic we like to bring you a wide variety of exotic recipes from every corner of the world. Whether it’s Indian comfort food or an easy Cuban black bean soup, there is something for everyone.
For me, comfort food means Middle Eastern fare. Growing up in Cairo gave me access to delicious falafel, hummus, and koshary at every corner. Thankfully, many of the comforting classics I grew up with can be easily reproduced within the confines of my matchbox-sized NYC kitchen. Now if you’ll excuse me while I scour the cabinet for the tagine.
Side note to our herbivore friends: all of the dishes are vegan. (Meat eaters don’t fret, Middle Eastern food can be vegan and still delicious!)
