The Marguerite Cocktail Recipe

Yes you read that correctly: This is a Marguerite cocktail, not a Margarita. One is made with gin, the other with tequila. Both are delicious. But very different.

The Marguerite first appears in cocktail books in 1896 and was specifically designed to use Plymouth Gin, which was less sweet than the Old Tom gin that was common to the era. So of course Plymouth Gin chose to highlight this classic cocktail at their bar during the gala opening event for the Manhattan Cocktail Classic.
