Chef Michael Symon is going to have a tough time growing dreadlocks. But in other ways he is hoping to become Whoopi Goldberg.

Symon, Mario Batali, Carla Hall from Top Chef, nutrition expert Daphne Oz, and Clinton Kelly from What Not To Wear have been cast as the chatters on a new ABC food-focused daytime talk show called The Chew that is slated to debut in September.

In an interview during the Pebble Beach Food and Wine Festival (where we also learned about gimmicky ingredients), Symon compared himself to members of the cast of that other ABC daytime talk show, The View.
